Money, a medicinal material, tastes sweet, is heaty in substance, and poisonous. However, it could prevent senescence and make people look younger. It could also tackle hunger and cold with immediate effect, getting people out of dire circumstances. It is beneficial to a country and its citizens, but it could blemish virtuous persons, and it fears incorruptible officials only. Greedy persons should take it moderately and evenly; otherwise, it could bring them excessive heat and cold like contracting cholera. Though the herb medicine can be harvested at any time, it will harm peoples spirits if not picked properly. Once in circulation, it can summon gods and spirits, communicate with ghosts and demons. If only accumulated without dispersal, then flood, fire, and robbers will come. If only dispersed without accumulation, then hunger, cold, and hardship will arise. The rotation of accumulation and dispersal in money is called the Right Way; not cherishing it as tresures is called Virtue; taking and giving it appropriately is called Justice; not seeking it beyond one’s due is called Propriety, widely spending it to help the ones in need is called Benevolence; giving out without missing out in appointed time is called Trustworthiness; gaining it without harming yourself is called Wisdom. Only when you have refined these seven techniques thoroughly can you take the medicine for a long time and enjoy longevity. Otherwise, it will enfeeble your wits and harm your spirits---that must be strictly avoided.
