An exacting manager to work for is not necessarily one who only relies on bullying subordinates to exert authority to make them obey orders. In my working experience, I have seen a few overbearing managers or executives who lack enough general and professional knowledge for their jobs. The only way for them to survive (or thrive) is by putting on air to the extent of bullying to conceal their incapabilities.
