A former classmate who lives in Garden New Village invited us again to his home today.  The villiage, maybe the first one of the kind in Taipei area, was founded some fifty years ago, and its houses are dotted and nestled at evergreen hills nearing Wulai, not far away from Xindan.

The villa-styled housings and tranquil scenery are perfect for seniors to enjoy the rest of their lives there, provided they are able to be well cared of and tended to.  Well, I guess most of us are not qualified.

Again, I would like to tell you the story of the founder and designer of the villiage, Ms Xiu Zelan.  According to late Mr Li Ao, the husband of Ms Xiu was sentenced many years in prison simply because he commited "covert treason" in an occasion where, among the attendees, he was the only one  who did not chant "Long live, President Chiang" as others did at the end of the ceremony.
