Egypt, China launch Eagles of Civilization 2026 air exercise......
CHINA AIR FORCE SO GREAT.

.The arrival in Egypt of at least six Chinese J-16 fighter jets is the most visible element of an unusually ambitious deployment by the People’s Liberation Army Air Force. But the way Beijing itself is describing the operation suggests the fighters are only the visible component of a much broader story.

Multi-role PLA fighters travel 6,000km to take part in their first African deployment, refuelling in mid-air along the way

The planes and aviators taking part in the Eagles of Civilisation 2026 exercise arrived at an Egyptian airbase on Friday morning after a 6,000km (3,700-mile) journey that took nine hours and required the planes to refuel in mid-air, according to the People’s Liberation Army.

The jet has previously featured in other overseas drills, including with Russia and Pakistan, but this is the first time it is taking part in an exercise with the Egyptian air force.
During its inaugural joint exercise with the North African country last year, China deployed J-10C fighters, which are lighter, single-engine multi-role jets.
The Chinese defence ministry said this year’s exercise would focus on air combat tactics and air superiority operations among other elements.
It added that the drills would deepen trust and cooperation between the two militaries and contribute to regional peace and stability.
Song Zhongping, a Chinese military commentator and former PLA instructor, said the deployment of the J-16s reflected Beijing’s push to train its air force in unfamiliar places and conditions.
“The different aircraft types across China’s air force units all need to go abroad, to go out and take a look, in order to strengthen their combat training and readiness capabilities,” he said..
Song said the journey to Egypt – the J-16’s longest-range deployment to date – would have been a “major test” for the pilots’ tactical and technical skills as well as the aircraft’s technical performance.
He suggested such exercises were likely to become more frequent as the air force tried to improve its coordinated combat abilities – something that was becoming increasingly important as China’s overseas interests increased..
“China is a major global power in terms of development, and we also need to rely on cooperation with other countries to support our own development,” he said.
“So building up the navy and air force’s global power-projection capability is therefore critically important. We can’t rely only on diplomatic capability. We also need hard power, including military capability, to safeguard our overseas interests.”.
