第一屆華府圍棋公開賽

第一屆華府圍棋公開賽(1st Washington Open Baduk Championship)將於4月26日、 27日在維吉尼亞州舉行，每組都有獎金，最高現金獎至少為1200美元。棋士棋友們，可別錯過這本地首創的華府圍棋公開賽！

本次棋賽是由韓國大使館韓國文化中心、Scorpion體育公司共同贊助，並由

北維棋社、巴爾的摩棋社、及韓裔美國人圍棋協會主辦，韓國業餘圍棋協會（KABA）和美國圍棋協會（AGA）協辦。韓國職業棋士Myungwan Kim九段、Sohyun Park三段將出席大會指導講評。

華府圍棋公開賽共下五場：26日(週六)三場、27日(週日)二場。參賽棋士必須在26日(週六)上午8:45抵達會場登記；9:30開始第一場比賽，每場比賽每人時限一小時，採AGA規則。

週六晚上7:30-8:30有圍棋講座，8:30-11:00是快棋賽。週日下午3:30-4:30有棋 評；4:30-6:00是職業棋士對棋友們的多面打指導棋；6:00-6:45是頒獎與閉幕。

Hold the weekend of 26 April!

The 1st Washington Open Baduk Championship (Wei’Qi and Go) will be held in Northern Virginia on the weekend of 26 April. With a top prize of at least $1,200, and cash prizes for every section, this two day tournament is not to be missed!

Location: The Korea-U.S. Science Cooperation Center (KUSCO), 1952 Gallows Road, Suite 330 (near Route 7 and Tyson’s Corner)

The Championship is sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Korean Cultural Center - DC, and Scorpion Sport Inc. in L.A. It is co-hosted by the Korean Amateur Baduk Association (KABA) and the American Go Association (AGA), and organized by the NOVA Go Club, the Baltimore Go Club, and the Korean-American Go Association.

Schedule:

Saturday and Sunday, 26 and 27 April. Players should arrive by 8:45 am on Saturday, to verify their registration. The first round starts at 9:30 am each day. The Championship will be an AGA rated five round, one hour/player event. Three rounds on Saturday, and two rounds on Sunday.

Saturday night will feature Dan and Kyu lectures from 7:30-8:30, and a rapid game tournament from 8:30-11 pm.

Sunday features game reviews from 3:30-4:30, simuls with the pros for Dans and Kyus from 4:30-6, and prize awards and closing remarks from 6-6:45.

AGA membership is required. No entry fee, lunch is free, and parking is free.

Lodging: There are many hotels near KUSCO. However, we have negotiated an excellent rate with Extended Stay America, 8281 Willow Oaks Corporate Drive, Fairfax VA 22031. It is 4.5 miles South of KUSCO just off Gallows Road, a seven minute drive. Newly renovated and reopened about one month ago. We have a block of 30 rooms available.
