Alex Parks出生在英國克倫威爾的小鎮Mount Hawke，從小Alex就顯示出她性格中獨立堅強的特點，與其他女孩子相比，她跟喜歡爬樹、騎馬這樣的運動。2003年父親背著Alex為她報名參加了由BBC主辦的第二屆Fame Acadmey新秀歌唱大賽，完全毫無準備的Alex Parks輕鬆打入決賽，並奪取了最終的總冠軍。在比賽進行中Alex Parks始終保持著自信放鬆的狀態，深情演繹了John Lennon、U2、Eurythmics、REM、Tears For Fears乃至於時下英國最走紅的Coldplay樂隊的代表作，不但贏得了數十萬觀眾的喜愛，更是打動了唱片公司的老闆，贏得了唱片合約。
