英國電子音樂團體［流行尖端］出道曲──合成流行／新浪潮──［Dreaming of Me／夢見我］

１９８０年於埃塞克斯郡的巴西爾登市成立的流行尖端（Depeche Mode）是英國樂壇的四人電子音樂團體．以融合新浪潮　後龐克　電子合成流行　與另類舞曲的樂風聞名，並獲得商業與樂評肯定．

樂團最初由Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher和Vince Clarke組成，自 2022 年以來，樂團只剩下Gahan和 Gore。

原始團名Composition of Sound，但隨即改成Depeche Mode──這個名字由Dave Gahan選定。

Gore在解釋新名字的選擇時說道，這個名字源於對法國時尚雜誌《Dépêche Mode》名稱的誤譯：“它的意思是‘匆忙的時尚’或‘時尚快訊’。我喜歡這個名字的發音。”

該雜誌名稱更準確的翻譯是「時尚新聞」或「時尚動態」。

 

 

 

在坎寧鎮的橋屋酒吧（Bridge House）演出期間，樂團認識電子音樂製作人兼Mute唱片公司創始人Daniel Miller，他有意邀請樂團為他新興的唱片公司Mute錄製一首單曲。

這次口頭約定促成他們的首支單曲［Dreaming of Me／夢見我］的誕生，這首歌於１９８０年１２月錄製，並於１９８１年２月發行。

此曲由Vince Clarke創作，流行尖端＋Daniel Miller製作成一首合成流行／新浪潮．

旋律討好，節奏中板，受到好評．

 

 

［Dreaming of Me］登上英國單曲榜上＃５７。

此曲另外拿到美國告示牌副榜──舞曲播放榜＃４７．

２０１１年拿到德國單曲榜＃４５．

受到鼓舞，樂團錄製第二支單曲［新生／New Life］，登上英國榜＃１１，

讓樂團受到矚目．

 

［Dreaming of Me］並未收在流行尖端首張大碟［Speak & Spell／說話與拼字］

直到１９８８年，唱片公司推出［Speak & Spell］CD 再版，才出現於附加曲目中．
