１９８２年秋天，美國白人靈魂／R&B歌姬蒂娜瑪莉（Teena Marie）與Gordy／Motown唱片公司約滿．

１９８３年跳槽Epic唱片，開始籌備下張大碟, 這回由瑪莉獨自製作。

９月，２７歲半的蒂娜瑪莉發行在新東家首張作品──事業第五張大碟［Robbery／搶劫］（Epic出版）

旋律討好，節拍明快，瑪莉展現其多變唱腔．

 

［Fix It／解決它］未入美國告示牌單曲榜，

但登上副榜──黑人單曲榜＃２１，舞曲播放榜＃４１．

 

數首單曲的冷漠反應也讓大碟［Robbery］銷售不佳，只登上Billboard專輯榜＃１１９，黑人榜＃１３，成為蒂娜出道以來的低點。
