１９９０年代中期，美國黑人歌姬狄昂．華薇克（Dionne Warwick）離開Arista唱片公司．

１９９８年６月，５７歲半的狄昂與獨立廠牌River North唱片簽約，推出睽違三年半的大碟［Dionne Sings Dionne／狄昂唱狄昂］，翻唱自己以前的歌曲．

製作群眾多，並由Steve Devick＋華薇克製作，樂評出色．

《Allmusic》稱：［Dionne Sings Dionne］也是一張實力雄厚的專輯。雖然收錄新歌，但［Dionne Sings Dionne［的大部分內容都是她與Burt Bacharach和作詞人Hal David合作的60年代作品的改編版。
