１９４０年１２月生於紐澤西州的狄昂．華薇克（Dionne Warwick）是美國非裔歌姬紅星．原名Marie Dionne Warrick．

妹妹是歌手Dee Dee Warwick，阿姨是西西休斯頓（Cissy Houston），表妹世惠妮休斯頓（Whitney Houston）

1961年夏天，她在Drifters樂團錄製熱門歌曲［Mexican Divorce］時擔任背景歌手，結識了Burt Bacharach, Hal David搭檔。

１９６２年１０月．將滿２２歲的狄昂．華薇克推出個人首支單曲［Dont Make Me Over／別讓我改變］（Scepter出版）

由導師Burt Bacharach, Hal David創作，並製作成一首流行靈魂／Brill Building Pop

旋律溫柔，狄昂的唱腔從輕吟到激昂，展現其醇厚的嗓音．

起初，華薇克錄製了［Make It Easy on Yourself］原始樣本，她本想將其作為個人首支單曲發行，但唱片公司已將它給另一位藝人Jerry Butler。

因此只能選擇［Dont Make Me Over／別讓我改變］
