１９８５年７月初，柯林斯在國際地區推出第三單曲［Don’t Lose My Number／別忘了我的號碼］（但未在英國發行），由菲爾譜寫．

柯林斯曾表示，［Dont Lose My Number］的歌詞是即興創作的，他本人並不完全理解歌詞的意思。

《紐約時報》也認為歌詞非常「模糊，只勾勒出一出情節劇的輪廓，卻沒有完整地講述故事」。

 

Hugh Padgham和菲爾柯林斯製作成一首舞曲搖滾／合成流行，節奏強勁有力，風格與［Sussudio］類似．

歌曲製作突出地展現柯林斯標誌性的門控混響鼓音色。

 

《Cashbox》雜誌稱這首歌「將摩城音樂的活力與這位創作歌手自身的魅力和嗓音的緊迫感融為一體」。

柯林斯不知道該用什麼作為［Dont Lose My Number］的音樂錄影帶主題，所以決定展現自己選擇主題的過程。

在影片中，柯林斯與多位「導演」進行了交談，他們都為他提供一些不太合適的想法。他們的建議讓柯林斯得以惡搞當時其他幾部音樂錄影帶，。此外，影片中還惡搞了武士電影、西部片和［Mad Max 2／瘋狂麥斯2］的電影。

他當時的妻子Jill Tavelman在海灘場景中客串出演一位對他微笑的模特兒。
