英國硬式搖滾／重金屬天團［深紫］成名曲──迷幻搖滾／硬式搖滾／藍調搖滾──［Hush／安靜］

深紫（Deep Purple）是英國的硬式搖滾／重金屬樂團，１９６８年成立於英國哈特福。原本團名‘圓環’，後改名‘深紫’．

被認為是重金屬音樂和現代硬式搖滾的開拓者之一，儘管他們的音樂風格在他們的整個職業生涯中各不相同。

樂團的風格曾數次異動，成立之初是迷幻搖滾／前衛搖滾，在１９７０年轉向重金屬風格。

深紫與黑色安息日（Black Sabbath）、齊柏林飛船（Led Zeppelin）被視為「七十年代初期到中期英國硬搖滾和重金屬的邪惡三人組」

也是「重金屬音樂的三大元老」。

 

１９６８年５月，深紫到倫敦錄製第一張專輯［Shades of Deep Purple／深紫色調］，只花費兩天，

製作人Derek Lawrence也幫他們找唱片公司簽約。

７月，透過Tetragrammaton唱片在美國發行《深紫色調》，９月透過Parlophone唱片在英國發行。

 

首支單曲是［Hush／安靜］，這是翻唱自美國歌手Billy Joe Royal.１９６７年推出的單曲（US#52, Ger#12, Bel#1）

Derek Lawrence將其改編成一首迷幻搖滾／硬式搖滾／藍調搖滾

編曲熱鬧，主唱嗓音有勁．

［Hush］未入英國榜，但在美國卻意外受到歡迎，登上告示牌百強單曲榜＃４、加拿大單曲榜亞軍，瑞士＃７

大碟［Shades of Deep Purple／深紫色調］，也登上美國告示牌專輯排行榜＃２４，

加拿大專輯榜＃１９．

專輯在美國受到好評，但英國卻是負面評價．

 

美國媒體讚譽深紫是「英式香草軟糖樂團」，他們也被英國當紅的藍調搖滾樂團鮮奶油（Cream）選上，擔任他們告別巡迴的暖場樂團。

在美國走紅的深紫回到英國舉行［深紫色調］巡迴演出時，英國民眾以為他們只是不起眼的美國流行樂團。

團員回憶表示：「我們得到適當的曝光，美國人真的很會宣傳唱片」、「我們當初在美國很成功，但是英國這邊.. EMI唱片啥都不做，他們是愚蠢的老傢伙」。

 

［Hush］的成功讓深紫在美國打響名氣，但在英國，直到１９７０年才正式走紅．
