１９８８年９月，史汀推出專輯第五首單曲／英國第四單曲［They Dance Alone (Cueca Solo)／她們獨自跳舞(一人奎卡舞)］──單曲指標名［They Dance Alone］

史汀以筆名Gordon Sumner譜寫，並有Roberto Livi的附加西班牙語詞．

歌曲是一個隱喻，指哀悼的智利婦女 (arpilleristas)，手捧著失踪親人的照片獨自跳著智利的民族舞蹈奎卡舞 （Cueca）。

他與Neil Dorfsman將其製作成一首融合爵士，搖滾，世界民族音樂的抒情曲　

在舒緩的速度中, 史汀以低吟方式演繹智利婦女的傷痛.
