在分列式中各式武器，最受矚目當屬第一次亮相的東風-31洲際彈道飛彈，是中共軍方第一次將如此重要的戰略武器擺出來，射程超過14000公里，是可以直接攻擊美國本土的終極武器。過去幾次彩排都是用帆布覆蓋，顯得神祕感十足。

過去曾亮過相的長劍-10巡弋飛彈，這次也會大大方展示，和過去不同的是長劍-10除了陸射型還將有空射和艦射各種衍生型號，預料也是展示的亮點。也是第一次曝光的鷹擊-83超音速反艦巡弋飛彈，有超過250公里的射程，可以和台灣十分引以為傲的雄風三型相互較量。在空中方面，傳言中的殲-20和殲-31也可能出現衝場，不過按照一般的軍工發展，還沒有完全定型而且持續改款中的機型在分列式中出現的機率並不高。反而是才服役不久並上了遼寧艦服役的殲-15是空中的大亮點。殲-15的航程超過3500公里，是極有威脅的空中戰力。

對於這次閱兵，中國大陸定調為「銘記歷史，緬懷先烈，珍愛和平，開創未來，不針對任何國家」。另外還有17個國家的方隊參了閱兵，整個閱兵分列式約在50分鐘結束。也包括著名的女子方隊。

「9?3」大閱兵，3日在天安門前登場，展示超過84%的自製武器，及首度露臉的各種戰略武器將占據世人的眼光。東風-31、東風-15都將亮相。此次共編有50個方隊，其中徒步方隊有11個，各式武器將裝備方隊達27個。空中梯隊20種各型式戰機共200多架。
