I read a very touching report online yesterday.  After 003 carrier launched, some voluntary worshippers paid tribute with flowers and the pictures of Chinese carriers to the graves at some cemetery in England.  Who were rested in the graves?  They were five sailors pertaining to Chinese Navy of Qing Dynasty, who were sent to England for learning sailing during late 19th century, and they died there.

Report said all gravestones of the deceased are facing east: their faraway homeland.  They missed the opportunities of fighting the sea battles against Japan in the sea nearing Liaoning and Shandong, and against France in Fujian.  Most likely they would have sacrificed their lives in those losing battles, but their descendants would not anymore, at least in the future battles of protecting their homeland, including Taiwan.

遼寧艦、山東艦

Liaoning for 遼寧,請注意“寧”有鼻音。

Shandong for 山東,請注意唸“山”時要捲舌(漢語拼音裡,“h”指示捲舌)微笑

已更正, 多謝. (Liaoning,是我太粗心了) Retiredbum2022/06/26 22:35回覆
