今早上網瀏覽小女兒就讀的學校(Redwood Middle School) 所刊登的十月份文摘, 其中刊登了表揚八, 九月份優秀教師的名單, 獎項稱之為 Starfish Award. 很好奇為何取用 Starfish? 仔細詳讀才知道是出至以下的典故.

An old man walked up a shore littered with thousands of starfish beached and dying after a storm. A young man was picking them up and flinging them back into the ocean. “Why do you bother?”the old man scoffed. “You're not saving enough to make a difference.” The young man picked up another starfish and sent it spinning back to the ocean. “Made a difference to that one,” he said.

看完後挺有感觸, 在浩瀚的宇宙裡我們是如此的渺小, 一份微小的力量或許微不足道, 對整個宇宙並沒有產生任何的改變, 但是對那單獨的個體和自己, 這份力, 可能會影響甚至改變一生. 所以, 我想, 當我覺得應該做點什麼的時候, 就放手去做, 不必前估後計的去想到底會得到什麼樣的結果. 當然是不能作違背天理的事囉!
