‧air pollution
Do you think that there will be more cyclists on the street on World Carfree Day?

The Inside Scoop on Boston

“Guidebooks can only get you so far,” my friend Vinnie said as I was planning my first trip to Boston. This historical city was his hometown, and he told me to follow his advice for the best Boston experience.

Obeying3 Vinnie, I headed to the Freedom Trail first. This is a red line that runs 2.5 miles through the oldest parts of the city, so following it is like visiting an outdoor museum. Starting at Boston Common, a beautiful park, the red trail took me past old churches, meetinghouses, and a statue of Benjamin Franklin. I also checked out Faneuil Hall. Some say the American Revolution started in this redbrick building. Now, you can learn about history there while also getting some great gifts at its many shops.

My hunger finally made me stop shopping and find some food. Union Oyster House is the oldest restaurant in the United States, and Vinnie recommended the clam chowder there. This delicious creamy soup with salty clams and vegetables is one of the most famous dishes of Boston.
