泰戈爾提及生命的悸動與顫懍的喜悅，是他經歷過神秘的美── 自上天，故此頌歌。

I know not from what distant time                           

Thou art ever coming nearer to meet me.     

Thy sun and stars

Can never keep thee hidden from me for aye.

In many a morning and eve

thy footsteps have been heard

And thy messenger has come within my heart

And called me in secret.

I know not only why today my life is all astir,

And a feeling of tremulous joy

Is passing through my heart.

It is as if the time were come to wind up my work,

And I feel in the air a faint smell of thy sweet presence.

不意祢何時已前來相會

一如太陽與星星的光輝

不曾隱蔽

無數晨昏

我聆聽過祢的跫音

祢也差遣使者探入我心門

秘密召喚

我無從知道生命何以如斯悸動

就懷着 

顫慄般的喜悅 ──

彷若生命的工每告段落之時

空中就瀰漫着祢淡淡的清芬                             (白梅)
