    川普7日宣布，將提名愛荷華州長布蘭斯塔德（Terry Branstad）出任駐北京大使。布蘭斯塔德與大陸國家主席習近平早在1985年結識，被認為是「中國的老朋友」，在「英川熱線」引發兩國緊張之際，由他出使大陸，也代表川普釋善意。

    對這項提名，「俠客島」昨刊文指出，不妨將此視為川普希望加強中美關係所作任命。不過，文末強調，「挑選一位友好、了解中國的大使可不是買了一份完全保險」；重要的是，川普和其新政府要正視大陸立場與中美關係，「實實在在管控分歧謀求合作」。















  • 接下駐北京大使後，預料布蘭斯塔德將為川普處理棘手的中美貿易問題。川普交接團隊在新聞稿強調，布蘭斯塔德支持「以美國利益為優先」的貿易協定，「他將與川普經濟團隊合作，談判公平貿易協定」，並落實「美國第一」的外交政策。他因與習近平熟識，或有助降低美中貿易摩擦。

  • 布蘭斯塔德擁有與中國打交道30多年經驗，親訪大陸6次，11月才剛率貿易團走訪北京與河北。他在大選期間力挺川普，深獲川普信賴。就憑他與美中兩國元首都有深厚交情，因此儘管不熟外交，但外界咸認為他是駐中大使理想人選。
