水晶宮（The Crystal Palace）是一個以鋼鐵為骨架、玻璃為主要建材的建築，是十九世紀的英國建築奇觀之一，也是工業革命時代的重要象徵物。它原先是世界博覽會首次於1851年在倫敦舉行時的展示館，這場世界博覽會的正式名稱為萬國工業博覽會，一直到1936年以前曾經吸引過無數的社會各種階級的遊客前來參觀，「水晶宮」是來自一家以諷刺文章著名的《笨拙》雜誌因其建築通體透明寬敞明亮而給予的名稱（這個雜誌過去也曾經對一些歷史事件評論，例如霍亂傳染病和骯髒的倫敦街道）。後來這個名稱又被一個足球會引用，及後成為水晶宮足球會，「水晶宮」也常用來指示倫敦南區的一塊範

《海德公園》這首詩，曾描述過這棟壯觀的建築物：

At Rotten Row around a tree,
With Albert's help did Mr P.
His stately pleasure dome design:
The greatest greenhouse ever seen;
A glass cathedral on the green,
Beside the crystal Serpentine.

 1936年11月30日一場災難襲擊了這個美麗的宮殿，幾個小時內，火焰吞噬全部為了偉大的大英帝國豎立的種種成就，以及無數人對水晶宮的夢想，在毀壞的過程中，英國居民可在幾里外遙望這個烈火，比較近的地區甚至夜空也變得明亮，就像1866年火焰焚毀北支的走廊，加上沒有適當的保險可以給付重建的經費，一些輿論認為不應該再重建，因為這個帝國偉大的象徵已經老舊，失去原有的價值了。溫斯頓·丘吉爾從英國下議院打道回府途中表示：「這是一個時代的終點。」

The Crystal Palace was a cast-iron and plate-glass building originally erected in Hyde Park, London, England, to house the Great Exhibition of 1851. More than 14,000 exhibitors from around the world gathered in the Palace's 990,000 square feet (92,000 m²) of exhibition space to display examples of the latest technology developed in the Industrial Revolution. Designed by Sir Joseph Paxton, the Great Exhibition building was 1,851 feet (564 m) long, with an interior height of 128 feet (39 m).^[1] Because of the recent invention of the cast plate glass method in 1848, which allowed for large sheets of cheap but strong glass, it was at the time the largest amount of glass ever seen in a building and astonished visitors with its clear walls and ceilings that did not require interior lights, thus a "Crystal Palace".

After the exhibition, the building was rebuilt in an enlarged form on Penge Common next to Sydenham Hill, an affluent South London suburb full of large villas. It stood there from 1854 until its destruction by fire in 1936.

中融的重建計劃包括：按照英國建築師帕克斯頓的原始設計，重建玻璃及鋼結構的水晶宮及其周邊的公園，整個水晶宮公園面積超過70萬平方公尺。今年躋身富比士華人富豪榜的倪召興表示，重建的「水晶宮」長約500公尺、高50公尺，可舉辦藝術品展覽、拍賣和交易活動，還將設有咖啡廳和酒店等配套設施。工程計畫於2015年底開工，2018年完成，將在當地創造約2,000個就業機會。
