中產階級（英文：middle class）是一種社會階層，在現代社會中，指擁有一定程度的經濟獨立，例如有安定、較高薪酬的工作，在現代社會對社會的發展和穩定起很大的作用。此詞常用於專業人士、學者、知識分子，或大企業、公營機構、政府部門的中級管理層，或中小型企業東主，中學、小學、幼稚園校長、教師、社工和護士等。馬克思主義將這一階層稱為「小資產階級」。
中產階級有時也被戲稱「夾心階層」，意即他們夾在社會中層，既不如上流社會人士般享有巨大財富，又不像低收入人士般能享受相對大的社會福利保障。
中產階級的界定因素隨各國有所分別，但基本上多以收入及擁有資產作界定，其他因素則包括教育、專業地位、擁有住屋或文化等。例如擁有大學學位的人，多數可躋身中產階級的行列。而擁有自置物業及私家車，亦是中產階級的象徵。
2013年3月28日，《福布斯》中文版聯合宜信財富發布《中國大眾富裕階層財富白皮書》稱，中國的大眾富裕階層近年來迅速壯大，2012年已超過千萬人，達到1026萬人，人均可投資資產達133萬元人民幣。參考國際通行標準，白皮書所定義的大眾富裕階層是指個人可投資資產在10萬美元至100萬美元之間的中國中產群體，即所謂的「高級白領」。此人群中，從事金融和貿易的佔19.2%，從事製造業的佔據了11.5%的份額，從事房地產行業的有9.0%。
The middle class is a class of people in the middle of a societal hierarchy. In Weberian socio-economic terms, the middle class is the broad group of people in contemporary society who fall socio-economically between the working class and upper class. The common measures of what constitutes middle class vary significantly among cultures.Their value was considered to be the highest of all class, until the economy matured and settled in more, and then they were less rich, and leaving the upper class the richest and wealthiest title and class during the late 1800's.
- Achievement of tertiary education.
- Holding professional qualifications, including academics, lawyers, chartered engineers, politicians, and doctors, regardless of leisure or wealth.
- Belief in bourgeois values, such as high rates of house ownership and jobs which are perceived to be secure.
- Lifestyle. In the United Kingdom, social status has historically been linked less directly to wealth than in the United States, and has also been judged by signifiers such as accent, manners, place of education, occupation, and the class of a person's family, circle of friends and acquaintances.]
- Cultural identification. Often in the United States, the middle class are the most eager participants in pop culture whereas the reverse is true in Britain. The second generation of new immigrants will often enthusiastically forsake their traditional folk culture as a sign of having arrived in the middle class.
