Doc Pomus 和Mort Shuman合作為貓王Elvis Presley寫了二十五首歌，“Suspicion” 是其中之一，於1962年收錄於Pot Luck專輯內（B面第二首）。

二年後，聲音與貓王相似的Terry Stafford翻唱，配上女子合音，加入輕快的小喇叭襯托貝斯旋律，效果更為明亮悅耳，引人注意。這個版本獲得1964年美國排行榜第三名，和英美國單曲排行榜第三十一名。（譯自）Wikipedia

翻唱能夠打敗原唱，已屬不易，而且對手居然是人氣旺盛的世界超級巨星 - 貓王，不禁張口結舌，大為意外，當時想必跌破不少專家眼鏡。

兩個版本我都喜歡，各有勝場，活潑的貝斯旋律和輕快的節奏，尤其是獨特的橋段安排，讓我為之著迷。

可是快樂節奏，與懷疑劈腿的煩惱心理狀態，好像不太符合情境?

管他，今朝有酒今朝醉，先唱好歌過瘾，明天才為鎖碎雜事煩惱!  情場老手的貓王左擁右抱，那在乎其中有人三心二意。別忘了，女人常耍心機手段，欲擒故縱。
