《西城故事》改編自莎士比亞的愛情悲劇《羅密歐與朱麗葉》，背景則是以當時的紐約移民為參考，在1957年完成音樂劇，然後1961年電影版正式上映，曾獲十項奧斯卡金像獎，是一部地位超然的歌舞片，而片中兩人定情的歌曲"Tonight"相當動人好聽。
