Facebook宣布針對公益活動與慈善機構設立一站式資源中心，提供非營利組織合適工具、資源，並且透過Facebook平台以社群力量協助推動各類公益活動。
根據Facebook說明，針對公益活動與慈善機構等非營利組織所設立的一站式資源中心，最主要希望透過Facebook本身社群凝聚力量，讓非營利組織能透過網路傳播力推廣其公益理念，進而讓募款、捐助活動效益大幅發揮，同時亦可號召更多具有相同理念的群眾加入公益活動。
除了以此推動全球公益日活動，並且在全球各地透過不同活動響應、支持之外，Facebook也在今日 (4/28)在台與更多慈善機構宣布共同為台灣投入更多善心公益。
在去年11月間，Facebook已經針對非營利組織社團推行公益活動募款需求，額外提供可透過專頁進行線上募款，並且與諸如美國國家多發性硬化症學會 (National Multiple Sclerosis Society,NMSS)、慈善會 (Mercy Corps)、世界自然基金會 (World Wide Fund for Nature,WWF)等非營利組織合作，藉此讓更多人可直接透過Facebook專頁進行捐款。
而這樣的作法，除了讓非營利公益組織能以更具效率募集捐款，藉此讓善心款項能確實用在公益或救助活動，並且避免個人捐款流入以公益名義詐騙的風險。
先前發生重大災情時，Facebook均同步緊急啟動安全回報專頁，讓使用者能透過Facebook告知個人或通報他人是否安全，同時也能藉由網路連線方式進行聯繫。而在先前發生尼泊爾大地震時，Facebook便同步啟用慈善機構專頁內的募款功能，並且使其顯現在Facebook使用者個人動態時報頂端增加關注度，總計在全球地區累積超過77萬人捐款，金額總計高達1500萬美元以上。
