2012年由三立所製作的華劇《愛上巧克力》找來曾之喬與吳建豪合拍，同劇演員還有王子（邱勝翊）、鍾欣凌及薛仕凌等，劇中他們都在巧克力店工作，而鍾欣凌和薛仕凌則是一對歡喜冤家，當今年的電視金鐘獎，兩人分別拿下戲劇節目最佳男主角及女主角獎時，這讓一同拍過戲的曾之喬以「奇妙的緣分」來形容他們同時拿獎這件事。

對於這奇妙的緣分，鍾欣凌透露，當時拍攝《愛上巧克力》和薛仕凌配成一對，她其實覺得有點對不起他，「明明這個姐姐比他大這麼多歲，卻跟他演一對，有點吃他豆腐，在劇裡我是倒追他的。」兩人今年都拿下金鐘獎，鍾欣凌表示，看到薛仕凌在表演這條路大鳴大放，很為他開心，「那時拍戲他會請教我，我們還一起去找導演討論怎麼演，他是個很認真的演員。」鍾欣凌也期待日後還有機會再「再演一對應該是很難，演母子比較有可能。」

《愛上巧克力》拍攝至今已事隔9年，鍾欣凌回想那時自己剛生大女兒兔寶，「才生完4個月，就接了這部戲。」而她的戲份都和年輕演員一起，也因此和曾之喬、吳建豪、王子、薛仕凌等變成好朋友，「那時候工作很愉快，遇到這幾個年輕人，帶我看不一樣的世界。」像是等戲的時候，就一起玩桌遊，她才知道年輕人在玩這個，因為生完小孩，生活都是小孩跟尿布，所以出門拍戲，反而讓她心情能放鬆，這讓她更珍惜與大家一起拍戲相處的時光，「只是我明明已經是媽媽了，怎麼還能演年輕人的戲，演起來有些心虛，所以在裡頭盡量要裝嫩一點。」
