在2012年10月時，紐澤西有一個很大的颶風 Hurricane Sandy。她是美國第三大嚴重損失的颶風，二百多人因這颶風的侵襲而死亡。由於Hurricane Sandy 對美國造成嚴重巨大的災難，Sandy 已遭北大西洋颶風區除名，從2018年起改用 Sara 來代替。
我對當時的景況還記憶猶新，狂暴風雨的當晚，我們搬到樓下較安全的客廳睡覺，夜𥚃聽到一陣狂風咆哮而過，房屋砰然震動，一片漆黑，沿着窗外的餘光往屋外瞧，啊！我們可憐的大樹倒了！這棵樹是從小樹長成到比兩層樓還高的大樹🌳。本以為他是棵永遠不老的長青樹，就這樣的跟我們道別了！
