Global Connector Technology (GCT) has released a new range of value-for-money surface-mount and through-hole DC power jacks in 0.65mm, 2mm, 2.35mm and 2.5mm centre pin diameters. The range spans current ratings from 1.5A to 8A and features high current, shielded variations in both straight and right-angle orientation.

Finding the correct DC jack can be difficult especially given the large variety of plug and jack sizes. The GCT website is designed to help those who have a plug and are not sure which jack to choose. It offers simple search functionality for rapid selection allowing customers to search by jack pin size, plug inner and outer dimensions, current rating, PCB orientation, mount type and jack cavity size. The DC power jacks are tested to 5,000 mating cycles and offer an operating temperature range of -25C to 70C, says the company.
