With 5300mAh battery, the BLUBOO X550 is the first phone to feature such high capacity battery on a Smartphone. Although the phone is categorized as a budget phone, the features it offers goes beyond its value.
Some of the key selling points of the Bluboo X550 include Powerbank mode and a Quick Charge Feature, which mediatek has appropriately named Pump Express Plus. The handset also runs the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop right out of the bat with built in ART (Energy/Performance management system) and OTA (Over the Air) upgrade support.
Performance is rated at the budget side, at its core is a 64 bit Mediatek MT6735 processor, a slight upgrade from the previous MT6732. Accompanying this is 2 GB Low voltage RAM and a 16 GB eMMC Memory, also features up to 64 GB TF-Card support for expandable storage.
The phone is equipped with a Phablet size 5.5 inch IPS Display but only has a 720p HD resolution. But at it’s current price point, this seems understandable. Plus the Ultra Narrow almost Border-less display looks great. At the back, the phone features a 8.0 megapixel Shooter with BSI (Back side illuminated) sensor, CMOS sensor and a wide angle lens.
All rounded connectivity, featuring Dual SIM Support and CAT4 LTE internet to achieve speeds up to 150/50Mbps. Other connectivity options are also available such as Bluetooth 4.0, Dual Band Wifi and USB-OTG functionality.
Overall, BLUBOO X550 smartphone is designed for usability, given the 4 days on a single charge for Normal use (as advertised), and a 30 days standby time. The ultra high capacity 5300mAh battery with Powerbank feature probably is the strongest selling point of the device.
