立法院副院長洪秀柱近來深陷爆料風波，不只是學歷遭到質疑，父親洪子瑜也被名嘴汙衊，讓她怒告妨礙名譽。連勝文昨天在臉書發布一篇「家人先祖何罪之有」的千字文，公開支持洪秀柱提告。連勝文說，雖然不實指控可經司法或其他方式來獲得澄清，但傷害還是已經造成了，「對洪副院長的痛，我感同身受!」

連勝文說，自己在參選台北市長時，曾祖父連橫也遭到抹黑，「我的曾祖父已經過世近80年，自然無法為當時台灣社會的特殊時空背景做說明，為自己的名譽辯護。」連表示，抹黑與謠言一旦在大眾心中形成既定印象，「任憑你費盡唇舌也無法辯護。」

連勝文以個人經驗告訴洪秀柱，只有善意是無法捍衛名譽，包容可能讓惡意更加猖獗，他支持洪對不實指控採取法律行為，捍衛名譽，並遏阻惡意言論蔓延。
