朱立倫競選總部主委胡志強認為，對於台灣慰安婦問題，日本不設平台代表不想討論，因「他們可能在思考，選後換了新政府之後，對慰安婦議題看法會不一樣。」民進黨昨對此表示，民進黨向來支持政府全力向日方爭取慰安婦權益，國民黨勿為選舉不擇手段，影射、扭曲他人立場。

對於胡志強談話，民進黨發言人邱莉莉批評，擔任過外交官和部長的胡志強先生，為了選舉竟然如此不擇手段，意有所指地影射他人立場，扭曲事實，令人遺憾。

邱莉莉表示，「籲請胡志強先生自重」，同時重申這是執政的國民黨應馬上去做的事情，不是一味推諉卸責；她並強調，民進黨向來就是支持政府全力向日方爭取慰安婦權益，讓上個世代受到委屈的台灣婦女，得到心靈的安撫與補償。
