永遠的洋基隊長 Derek Jeter 成立的媒體新創公司 The Players’ Tribune，吸引了許多粉絲的注意，因為裡面的文章都是由現任或前任運動員所寫。
而網站成立至今的最大火花，來自於周日 NBA 超級巨星 Kobe Bryant 在上面獨家宣布退休宣言。
Kobe 的貼文，成了網站史上流量最大的文章，甫上架兩小時造訪人次便破百萬，更讓網站於周日短暫暫停運作。
「平心而論，可以說該文章讓我們網站崩潰。」該公司透過電郵向《Business Insider》表示。
或許該感謝 Kobe 的文章，網站 11 月的表現是有史以來最佳。網站表示，平均每月流量約為 200 萬不重複到訪人次，平均停留 4-5 分鐘，但上個月達到 400 萬人次。
Kobe 選擇 Jeter 的網站發表退休宣言，並不難以理解。因為網站 2014 年成立後，10 月的 B 輪融資 550 萬美元就是由 Kobe 主導，他對網站有著「大筆投資」。
