If you do not feel amused after reading the following contents of the recently revised textbooks, you should check your pulse. 

Brainwashing has been the common practice in the island since 國民黨 took power. If you grew up in this island you should know it too well.

Let's examine the texts. The contents were took from 清廉國民黨，沒有228，這課本你接受嗎?

1. 「中國國民黨從過去到現在，經常是中華民國的執政黨，其政黨體質的健全、民主、清廉與執政能力，關係 2300 萬國民的幸福...」

Well, I am not sure if half of the island's population would agree.

2. 「中國就是天下... 中國總是試圖要「懷柔遠人」，要傳播自身的文化，接受這個文化的外族也就成為中國的一部分，中國的擴張乃是文化力的延申，而非武力的擴張。」

I am not so sure if this is true. Chinese culture has influenced its surrounding countries but some of them were the result of the force. Looking back in the history, most people would agree that Chinese were not peace-loving people.

3. 「中國與外族之間的政治文化分野是漸層次的光譜，而非二元的分裂，與近代西方的主權國家或殖民地概念相當不同。這也形成我國文化的一種特質，... (待續)」

What is "漸層次的光譜，而非二元的分裂"? This is not even Chinese language. Who wrote that? LOL  I can't stop laughing.

「我國」 refers to "we the Chinese people." If this book is intended to be used in Taiwan this whole sentence does not make any sense. From the perspective of Taiwanese people, China and Taiwan are very different.

4. 「(接續)... 那就是我們可以想要消滅我們文化的侵略者奮起抵抗，或是驅逐他們，但是我很少侵略異族。而只要是異族能接受這個文化，我們就不會排斥他們。」

This does not even touch the fact a bit; it is a blunt lie. Let's not forget that culturewise China has changed. This reminds me of 新疆 and 西藏. Their national flag does not even carry any symbol that represents Chinese culture. The five stars on the flag are foreign!

5. 「民主進步黨通過台獨黨綱，主張追求台灣獨立建國，... 台獨運動是對中華民國與憲法的否定，會讓台灣的社會陷入國家認同的錯亂...」

LOL This is classic. Of course it needs a Constitution reform to achieve the legal independency, maybe even a revolution. Taiwan independence movement, no doubt, contradict to the Constitution. But anyone can argue the current Constitution was written for the whole China. Living under such outdated Constitution is beyond belief. This basic law has to go.

So the question really is "What is odd with the new high school textbooks?"
