Nov 2026 Bybit TradFi | Bybit Referral Code BTC9149 | Up to 58% Off

Summary: Bybit puts traditional markets inside the same app, but the TradFi section actually holds two separate products: TradFi Perpetuals and CFD. Account structure, trading hours, leverage caps and holding costs all differ, and picking the wrong account is the first mistake most beginners make. This guide walks through where the tab lives, what you must complete before your first order, how to place one, and how the fees stack up. If you do not have an account yet, register with referral code BTC9149 so the discount applies from your very first trade — link and button below.

1. What TradFi is: one tab, two products

TradFi is a top-level category in the Bybit app's bottom navigation and in the top navigation on the website. Open it and you will find two sub-tabs: Futures, which holds TradFi Perpetuals, and CFD. Most people assume these are two names for the same thing. They are not.

One naming detail worth clearing up first: in July 2026 Bybit renamed the CFD product formerly called TradFi to Bybit CFD, powered by Infra Capital, which holds a Mauritius FSC license. Only the name changed — instruments, leverage, fees and existing positions are untouched. So "Bybit TradFi" now means the whole traditional-finance section, containing both perpetuals and CFD, while "Bybit CFD" means just the one product.

Both products track traditional assets: gold, silver, crude oil, forex, indices and major stocks. You are not buying bullion and you are not taking delivery of shares; you profit from the price difference between opening and closing. The logic matches crypto perpetuals. What you do have to adjust to is that these markets keep their own hours, they gap, and they carry overnight costs.

2. Choosing the right account

This is the part worth memorizing. Opening the wrong account will not throw an error; you will simply find that your funds will not transfer, that you cannot close on a weekend, or that the leverage cap is nowhere near what you expected.

ItemTradFi PerpetualsCFD (Bybit CFD)
AccountUses your existing UTA, no extra setupRequires a one-time MT5 CFD Account
Hours24/7Monday to Friday, per market hours
Max leverageUp to 100xUp to 500x on forex, 5x on stocks

Holding costFunding rate, settled every few hoursDaily swap fee
FundingUSDT already in your UTATransfer in USDT or BYUSDT, displayed as USDx

How to decide: if you already trade crypto perpetuals on Bybit and want gold, crude or index exposure around the clock, take TradFi Perpetuals — no setup at all. If you want forex or US stock CFDs, need MT5 charting and EAs, and can live with weekday-only trading, open a CFD account.

The difference you will feel most is trading hours. Perpetuals stay open through the weekend, so you can adjust a position any time. CFD follows the underlying market, which means no closing on a Saturday and no way to react to a Sunday gap until the next open.

3. Three things to finish before you start

Whichever route you take, finish these three first or the TradFi page will only be viewable, not usable:

  • Identity verification: Level 1 KYC or higher. Nothing fancier is required, but without it the order button never appears.
  • Risk disclosure: the first visit to TradFi shows a TradFi risk disclosure you must accept. It is a one-time step.
  • Metals agreement: trading gold (XAUUSDT) or silver (XAGUSDT) requires a separate metals risk agreement before your first order.

Funding works differently on each side. Perpetuals draw on USDT already sitting in your UTA, with no transfer needed. CFD requires moving USDT or BYUSDT from your Funding Account into the MT5 CFD Account, where the balance shows as USDx at a 1:1 ratio with USDT. USDx is an internal display unit only — it cannot be deposited or withdrawn directly.

No Bybit account yet? Enter the referral code during sign-up, because it determines the fee discount on every trade you place afterward, and the window to add it later is narrow. Register with code BTC9149: https://partner.bybit.com/b/BTC9149

4. Your first TradFi Perpetual in six steps

The interface is nearly identical to crypto perpetuals. If you have traded a USDT perpetual before, you only need to learn the instrument names.

  1. Open the trading screen: tap TradFi in the app's bottom bar, then the Futures sub-tab; on the website, hover TradFi and pick Futures.
  2. Pick an instrument: XAUUSDT for gold, XAGUSDT for silver, plus crude, major indices and selected stocks. Searching the ticker is fastest.
  3. Choose a direction: long or short, both use your own margin.
  4. Set margin mode and leverage: isolated or cross, then adjust leverage with the slider. Beginners should start isolated, where the maximum loss is the margin in that position.
  5. Choose order type and set TP/SL: market fills immediately, limit waits at your price. Take-profit and stop-loss can be attached at entry or added afterward.
  6. Check the liquidation price before submitting: this is the single most important line on the ticket, because it tells you where the position gets closed out.

A concrete example: gold at $4,000, 10x leverage, $400 of margin controls $4,000 of notional value. A 3% move against you loses about $120, which is 30% of your margin; a 10% move wipes it out. Leverage does not improve your win rate, it only converts the same price swing into a larger P&L. Doing that arithmetic before you click is far more useful than reading a liquidation notice afterward.

5. The CFD account: open, fund, trade, withdraw

Open: go to TradFi then CFD, tap Apply, accept the terms and set an MT5 master password, which you will need to log in to the MT5 desktop client — keep it safe. The account is created in minutes and is not a second Bybit account; it is a separate trading account inside your existing one.

Fund: open Assets, select the MT5 CFD Account, or use Transfer directly from the TradFi CFD page. Choose USDT or BYUSDT, enter the amount and confirm. The balance immediately displays in USDx.

Trade: select an asset class (forex, stocks, metals, indices, commodities), pick the instrument, then set direction, size in USDx or lots, market or limit, and TP/SL. If you prefer MT5, download the desktop client and log in with the same credentials for fuller charting and EA support.

Two fee modes: Zero-Fee mode charges no separate commission, with the cost built into the spread — good for beginners and infrequent traders. Tight-Spread mode offers narrower spreads with commission billed separately — better for active traders who care about quote precision. Instruments are identical in both; switching requires meeting an account balance threshold and holding no open or pending orders.

Withdraw: close every position first, since margin held against open trades cannot be moved. Then open Assets, select the MT5 CFD Account and transfer USDx back to your Funding Account. Funds return as USDT or BYUSDT, and you withdraw from there as usual.

6. Fee structure: three costs, not one

When people suspect they were charged too much, they usually have merged three separate costs into one. Each is charged differently, at a different moment, on a different basis:

CostWhere it appearsHow it is charged
Trading feeOpen and close of perpetuals and CFDOn notional value, once on entry and once on exit
SpreadEvery orderGap between bid and ask, the main cost in Zero-Fee mode
Holding costFunding rate for perpetuals, swap for CFDSettled on a schedule, accumulating the longer you hold

TradFi Perpetual fees split into maker and taker: roughly 0.02% and 0.055% at standard rates, with discounted rates bringing maker down to 0% and taker to about 0.0275%. Exact figures depend on VIP level and official announcements, and Pre-IPO symbols are excluded.

The most direct way to lower costs is to have the discounted rate from the moment you register. Binding referral code BTC9149 gives you a 33% trading fee discount; turning on MNT fee deduction in your fee settings stacks on top of it for up to 58% off trading fees, plus new-user benefits. Note that this discount applies to crypto and perpetual trading fees — CFD spreads and swap fees follow a different pricing structure and are not changed by enabling MNT deduction.

7. Five common beginner mistakes

  1. Treating the CFD balance as your main balance: USDx is a display unit, not a withdrawable coin. Transfer it back to the Funding Account to get USDT or BYUSDT first.
  2. Trying to move margin while a position is open: that margin is locked and the system will not offer it. Reduce or close first.
  3. Using perpetual habits on CFD: the market is shut at weekends, so pending orders do not fill and stop-losses do not trigger. Gap risk is yours to carry.
  4. Ignoring the swap fee: invisible on a short trade, but hold for a week or more and it quietly eats into profit even when your direction is right.
  5. Going heavy on leverage without a stop-loss: at 500x, a 0.2% move against you clears the position. Getting away with it once does not make it a strategy.

8. FAQ

Q1: What is Bybit referral code BTC9149 and where do I enter it?

It is a sign-up code that links your account to a referrer, which is how the trading fee discount and new-user benefits are determined. The field sits on the registration page; if you arrive through a link that already carries the code, it is filled in automatically.

Q2: Does using a referral code actually make trading cheaper?

Yes. Binding the code gives you a 33% trading fee discount, and enabling MNT fee deduction stacks on top for up to 58% off. The discount shows up directly in what you are charged, with no separate claim or rebate wait. It covers crypto and TradFi Perpetual fees; CFD spreads and swap fees are calculated separately.

Q3: I have never traded traditional assets. Which product should I start with?

Start with TradFi Perpetuals. It runs on the UTA and margin system you already know, needs no extra account or transfer, and trades around the clock, so the cost of learning is low. Move to a CFD account for forex or US stocks once the instrument names and market hours feel familiar.

9. Risk warning

TradFi perpetuals and CFDs are leveraged derivatives, and losses can exceed the initial margin assumptions behind a position. At high leverage a small adverse move can trigger liquidation. CFDs are over-the-counter contracts with no physical delivery and are bound by the underlying market's trading hours, so positions cannot be closed while that market is shut. Leverage caps, fee rates, instrument lists and trading rules may change with account status and official announcements — check live parameters in the trading interface before you submit an order. This article is a walkthrough of the product flow and is not investment advice.

10. Bottom line

Getting into Bybit TradFi is not hard; the hard part is knowing which account you are operating in. Remember three things: perpetuals use your UTA, trade 24/7 and cap at 100x; CFD uses an MT5 account, trades Monday to Friday and reaches 500x on forex; USDx is a display unit, not a withdrawable coin.

Do not rush the sign-up. Register through the link with referral code BTC9149 and the discount applies from your first trade — a 33% trading fee discount, stacked with MNT deduction for up to 58% off, plus new-user benefits.
