真的，
我真的不需要任何聖誕禮物，
我已經有屋頂遮頭，衣服暖身，食物裹腹，
有愛我的爸爸媽媽，
還有耶穌做我的朋友。
對一個尋常男孩來說，
還能再要什麼？
若說真要什麼，
我可以自己來做。
對了，我自己來做！
說到給別人禮物，
我也不知道我能給什麼。
我必須滿屋子「挖挖看」──
我的床底下，我的壁櫥裡…
在他們醒來之前，
還沒有發現我挖來挖去之前，
我就把從我屋裡挖到的寶藏包好了。

I really don't want anything for Christmas, because I already have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food in my stomach, two loving parents, and Jesus as my friend. What more could a mere boy ask for? If anything comes up, I'll make it myself. Yeah, Make it my self!
I don't know what to get for other people, if I want to give them something, I'll have to dig through my room, under my bed, & in my closet. And wrap it before they wake up and find my dig in my room.

目前看來(在他邁入青少年之際)，算是心靈非常「純淨」的孩子，還沒受太多「社會化」的壞影響。
