協會今年很開心能夠為國爭光，到英國拿下“Lush Prize 公共意識獎”。我們推廣的 “讓美麗遠離殘酷” 運動希望透過教育，大眾宣導，以及法律修法的努力來讓台灣的化妝品行業遠離殘忍以及不可靠的動物實驗方式。在英國看到很多其他國家的動保團體，科學家，教授，以及業者都聚集起來分享全世界在這議題上面的成果，感覺到很有希望，因為這已經是一個全球性的運動，是一個改革的時間點，在科學發達的世紀裡，我們不能在依靠古老的動物實驗標準，政府必須支持以及投入資源去使用以及研發更準確，更符合人體的安全測試方法，而這並非是動物實驗。重要的是，全世界目前已經有超過5000多種的化妝品原料已經被證明安全可使用，所以動物實驗是完全不必要的。請支持 “讓美麗遠離殘酷”，我們需要大家的力量才能夠使台灣跟進歐盟，印度，以及以色列的腳步，禁止化妝品動物實驗，讓動物不再為‘美麗’而死亡，讓消費者的安全受到真正的重視。

如果動物實驗可靠的話，我們今天的社會裡就不會有咖啡或止痛藥，因為在動物實驗裡這些東西被發現致癌以及會造成畸形病例。

2006年，經過‘有效’的動物實驗後，科學家發現一種可治療白血病的藥物，但在做臨床實驗時，在人體內產生嚴重的發炎以及腎臟衰竭現象。這代表動物實驗並不可靠，人類與其他動物的身體架構是很不同的！

科學家認為我們必須使用3D的人類細胞和組織來做相關的疾病治療測試，利用更符合人體的實驗方法才能讓我們更了解世界上影響人類的病毒以及危險有哪些。

We are very proud to be the recipient of this year's "Lush Prize Public Awareness Award". Our "Be Cruelty Free" campaign focuses on Education, Public Awareness, and Lobbying efforts to end cosmetics animal testing in Taiwan. When receiving the award in London, we met many scientists, educators, and animal welfare organizations who shared their experiences from around the world in regards to the issue of animal testing. The consensus is that ending the cruel and unreliable practice of using animals to test product safety for humans is necessary and urgent. Not only is the practice barbaric, it is also an outdated method of experimentation. We must start to utilize more human-relevant testing methods and models to ensure consumer safety. With over 5000+ safe cosmetics ingredients already available around the world, cosmetics animal testing is redundant and should be outlawed. We need your support in allowing Taiwan to follow in the footsteps of the EU, India, and Israel in banning animal testing for cosmetics.

IF animal experiments were reliable, we wouldn't have coffee or Asprin in our world today, as when tested on animals, these products were found to be carcinogenic and caused body mutations.

In 2006, a new drug to treat Leukemia was found to be successful in animal experiments, however during clinical trials, patients developed severe inflammations and organ failures. It proves that animal experiments are unreliable and can not assure the safety of humans.

Scientists believe that we must create better disease models by using 3D cultures of human cells and tissues and apply advanced molecular techniques in order to generate accurate and human relevant results. Humans and other animals have different organ structures and formations, therefore results shown in mice may not necessarily be the same when transferred to humans.
