Introducing the De Bethune DB27 “Nighthawk” watch, a collaboration with EsperLuxe

For the first time, it brings together the many features beloved by De Bethune fans.

For me, a De Bethune watch must draw ideas from Miles Davis. Essentially, it should be *Kind of Blue*. EsperLuxe, the independent dealer outside Boston, seems to recognize. The new DB27 “Nighthawk” gives some innovations to the DB27 collection. Often referred to as the “Titan Eagle, ” previous types featured a simpler design with some sort of dial engraved with concentric “miniature light” patterns, branded hinged lugs, and a top at 12 o'clock. Though the new DB27 boasts a lot of features not found in past versions.

Typically the dial features a “starry sky” pattern in titanium which has a flame-blue finish for the first time, marked with stars, marking the actual date and place of the public collaboration between EsperLuxe along with De Bethune in 2021. The sloping central face features silver Roman numeral hour markers, a train track-style scale, and 5-minute markers-elements that, while not fully new, are non-etheless clever. The watch is equipped with mirror-polished flame-blued titanium hands with gold tips. The case is engineered using polished grade 5 ti, with the central case personalized with De Bethune's personal unsecured ultra-lightweight style. The most attractive feature, however , is the unbelievably cool (and unprecedented) matte blue titanium short, moving lugs.

I realize it's a bit odd to hold talking about the lugs, quite possibly of you may not have had an opportunity to try on a De Bethune watch yet. Yes, their case is 43mm throughout diameter and 9mm solid (quite impressive considering it residences an automatic movement), but due to the hinged design of the particular lugs, their length are adjustable between 50mm and 47mm. This shortens the overall entire watch without making it look taller on the wrist. However, even though the wearing method may differ slightly from most watches, the watch fits the hand wrist much better.

The lens case back presents a unique sight-unlike most movements, yet still wonderfully crafted. The automatic one is engraved with a luminous pattern. The titanium harmony wheel is set with white gold or platinum trim. The watch features De Bethune's flat-ended curved hairspring and De Bethune's steel escapement. It boasts 29 jewels, a 4 Hz frequency, and a 60-hour reserve of power.

De Bethune produces a limited number of designer watches each year, so you might not be astonished to hear that this timepiece is released in a limited edition by way of retail partners.

As I mentioned earlier, this watch virtually entirely meets my targets for a De Bethune timepiece. It has a clean dial featured with my favorite (or subsequent favorite, after the " Starry Sea" series) De Bethune signature pattern. The glowing blue dial is gorgeous, offering the charm of the azure and silver two-tone combo. In my opinion, it's a fantastic see. No further explanation needed. Since De Bethune sometimes is chasing after other brands, the price is usually quite reasonable. Of course , If only it had more highlights, nevertheless even so, I wouldn't get it, so everything is great.
