LUC 1860 features Lucent Steel™
The spirit of the first LUC swiss watch men is revived in a new Lucent Steel™ creation bearing the Poinçon De Genève quality seal
In a creative gesture imbued with the innate elegance of the LUC collection, the Chopard Manufacture drew inspiration from the collection's first timepiece launched in 1997, combining a delicate salmon-coloured solid gold guilloché dial, The 36.5 mm case is made of Chopard's exclusive Lucent Steel™ alloy, and the carefully crafted observatory-certified movement.
The LUC Caliber 96.40-L is wound by a gold micro-rotor and equipped with two barrels based on Chopard's dual technology. Eagerly awaited by haute horlogerie collectors, this colourful, elegant timepiece showcases the Manufacture's virtuosity through meticulous finishing, and bears the Poinçon de Genève hallmark of quality.
The LUC collection once again demonstrates its refined nature, boldly replicating its first timepiece: the LUC 1860, voted "Watch of the Year" by the Swiss magazine Montres Passion (Uhrenwelt) since its launch in 1997. Today, the new version in Lucent Steel™ with a salmon-coloured guilloché gold dial continues the Manufacture’s philosophy of combining respect for watchmaking tradition with innovation.
Lucent Steel™: The Alchemist's Quest
For the first time in the history of the LUC collection, the main assets of Lucent Steel™ – the luminous brightness, durability and purity of Lucent Steel™, an alloy chosen by Chopard to treat steel as a precious metal. After four years of research and development, this steel, with properties comparable to surgical steel, entered the watchmaking world with the launch of the Alpine Eagle collection wrist watches for men in 2019.
Today, Chopard uses this material in other Chopard collections (80% of which are made of recycled elements), witnessing Chopard's continued commitment to responsible luxury.
Aesthetic harmony of elegant contrasts
At the center of the 36.50mm Lucent Steel™ case, there is an elegant two-tone dial. Crafted from solid gold with a subtle salmon hue obtained through galvanic treatment, it contrasts with the white gold touch of the herringbone hour markers – whose chevron shape echoes the slender faceted dauphine hands – and the delicate minute markers , the central area and the small seconds are decorated with guilloché rings.
The center of the dial is carefully hand-brushed with sunbursts surrounding the historic Chopard logo – in a cartouche at 12 o’clock – while the scale rings are satin-brushed. The snail-shaped small seconds dial is located at 6 o'clock, with a perfect balance of symmetry and proportion, and the cancellation of the date window further highlights the simplicity of the design. The anthracite grained calfskin strap with tone-on-tone stitching complements the exquisite colors and textures expertly matched in the atelier.
Poinçon De Genève quality mark: a guarantee of craftsmanship
Combining a vertically integrated approach with verification by an independent body, the workshop submitted this timepiece to the prestigious Poinçon de Genève for review. The latter guarantees the quality and smooth operation of watches assembled in Guangdong. The LUC 1860 takes this label of excellence to new heights as it is rarely applied to steel watches.
However, the Lucent Steel™ rendering, the refined dial colors and exquisite patterns, as well as the precision class of the movement, all transcend tradition, placing this model firmly in the upper echelons of contemporary watchmaking.high quality cheap watches
Certified Mechanical Properties
The LUC 1860 watch is equipped with the LUC 96.40-L movement, which is only 3.30 mm thick, and the precision workmanship is even more extraordinary. This movement is a variant of the first LUC movement, which marked the founding of the Chopard Manufacture in 1996. It is equipped with an off-centre micro-rotor in 22-carat gold, whose high inertia allows the movement to be wound efficiently. two barrels. Stacked according to the Chopard Twin technique, these barrels store the energy required for a total power reserve of 65 hours.
The LUC 96.40-L caliber drives the small seconds display, which is a prerequisite for certification by the official Swiss chronometer testing institute, the Observatory. Reflecting the innate sophistication of the LUC collection, it also features a stop-seconds function and swan-neck index components. The latter is used to carefully calibrate the active length of the balance spring, allowing finer adjustments to the frequency of oscillation and thus the rate of the movement. Finally, all bridges are carefully chamfered and decorated with Côtes de Genève.
The LUC Collection: Watchmaking Exquisite Craftsmanship
The LUC 1860 timepiece is part of a continuation of the story that began more than 25 years ago when, under the leadership of Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Chopard founded the LUC collection dedicated to In the art and tradition of Haute Horlogerie. The collection has been enriched over the years since the launch of the first LUC 1860 timepiece in 1997, in accordance with the best traditions of Swiss watchmaking at Chopard, Fleurier and Geneva Design, development, assembly, furnishing and certification with a workshop of exquisite and highly original complications. The re-edition of the LUC 1860 timepiece demonstrates Chopard's extraordinary ability to innovate and constantly produce new surprises.cheap luxury watches

rich details
Although chronographs are one of the most demanding horological professions, the Manufacture Chopard has elevated its LUC Caliber 03.07-L to the top of this flying universe with numerous functional details dedicated to user-friendliness. The movement is housed in a case made of Lucent Steel™: Chopard's exclusive steel alloy, composed of 80% recycled elements, known for its exceptional resistance to standard steel, luminosity and skin compatibility. Accentuating the sporty look of the watch, two mushroom-shaped
Buttons protrude from the traditionally designed round and supple 42mm diameter case. The brown calfskin strap with contrasting lining is stitched with green stitching that matches the color of the dial.
The latter is decorated with a sunburst centered on the "LUCHOPARD" logo at 12 o'clock. Undated and made up of extremely pure ingredients. The hour markers with circular fonts systematically feature two Arabic numerals, just like the tachometer on a car dashboard. Scaled from 05 to 60, they indicate the chronograph minutes and seconds. The movement, visible through the transparent case back, is finished to the highest standard: the baseplate and bridges are gold-plated, with the exception of the upper surface of the latter, which is in raw nickel silver to enhance the contrast of the LUC Caliber 03.07-L as well as its depth The effect - further enhanced by the fact that the absence of an oscillating weight allows for a completely unobstructed view.cheap watches for sale
rare and unique movement
The chronograph movement of the LUC series has a unique shape. Born in 2012, Caliber 03.03-L represents an important step in the development and maturity of the Chopard Manufacture. This was the first chronograph movement produced by the Maison Manufacture, it was self-winding and its structure was one-piece – meaning it was not a basic movement with modular function boards added, but a unified Overall.
It spawned several hand-wound or self-winding versions, with or without a date, and always in very limited series, such as the LUC Chrono One, LUC 1963 Chronograph or the Mille Miglia Classic XL 90 th Anniversary Limited Edition models. The LUC 1963 Heritage Chronograph series, limited to just 25 pieces, is no exception.
Certified chronograph user-friendliness
The LUC Caliber 03.07-L is a descendant of the LUC 03.03-L but is manually wound and has no date. It relies on advanced functions developed by Chopard's research and development team and has applied for four invention patents. The most obvious is the flyback function, which allows continuous chronograph operation without having to reset the counter to zero, thanks to the pusher at 4 o'clock. Its highly unusual hammer system consists of three rotating hammers with elastic arms actuated by a linear displacement lever. These kinematics guarantee reliable operation and an unmatched softness to the touch – a tactile factor that is emblematic of the meticulous care that Chopard watchmakers have put into the LUC Caliber 03.07-L and its level of quality.
Its coupling clutch is vertical, thus ensuring a more reliable start of the chronograph seconds hand. Finally, pulling the crown out will reset the small seconds at 6 o'clock to zero and hold it there. This enables precise synchronization with a reference time, a feature derived from the observatory mission of the LUC 1963 Heritage Chronograph. This element throughout the LUC collection reflects Chopard Co-President Karl-Friedrich Scheufele's consistent determination to ensure that the timepieces produced by the brand are of the same level of precision. This precision is highlighted by the word "Chronometer" on the dial and is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).replica limited edition watches
Pinnacle Craft Skills
In this hand-wound version, the LUC Caliber 03.07-L is raised to a higher status. Chronograph components occupy most of the visible space: rhodium-plated bridges, yokes, levers and column wheels stand out against a rose gold-plated background. This contrast is further enhanced by a variety of surface treatments: circular graining on the base, straight graining on the chronograph components and Côtes de Genève motif on the bridges. The latter is made of nickel silver, an exceptionally bright alloy.
Nickel silver, however, leaves little room for error because scratches on its surface cannot be repaired by polishing. It takes a steady hand to sand its chamfers, and shiny wire outlines them. Their curves, dips, corners and points are complex shapes highlighted by excellent handcraft. The latter received the Poinçon de Genève quality mark here: an independent certification reserved for watches of the highest technical and aesthetic quality - of which Chopard is one of the most loyal users.
