杜政哲身為夯劇「華燈初上」的編劇，這次為「早餐」獻出電影長片執導處女作，表示電影的結局是一大重點，劇組更花了一整天的時間拍攝出三種結局，「照原本的劇本是兩人在平交道二邊，舉著握拳的手勢，相視而笑，背後藍天白雲、陽光燦爛，非常清純可愛。還有一種是學長走過平交道，兩人開心相擁，背後藍天白雲、陽光燦爛，非常青春。」

不過導演、周興哲與李沐覺得最後的結局，似乎可以更有張力，於是加拍了吻戲版本，周興哲獻出大銀幕的初吻，笑說：「親起來有點QQ的。」李沐則是臉紅回應，「那時候周興哲穿過平交道走過來，覺得他很MAN，他的嘴唇也很Q。」

該場戲為了配合火車班次，全劇組拍得分秒必爭，因為經過此平交道的班次很少，一NG便要等很久才會有下一班車，周興哲回憶：「拍兩次就OK了，因為之後也沒有火車經過了。」「我吃了那男孩一整年的早餐」全台上映中。
