Standard gain horn antennas are used as calibration devices that measure the gain of other antennas.

These antennas are made up of a combination of a Waveguide to Coax Adapter and Standard Gain Horn with Waveguide Input. It is a kind of simple combination but with great care and attention to create an antenna with accurate and suitable specs.

8點檔演員何宜珊、王盈凱演出台視「寶島西米樂傳承」，劇中感情線大風吹，女方經歷痛苦失戀、男方因車禍失明，一場大雨戲令兩顆受傷的心靠在一起，成了近期劇中最虐心橋段，為了這場戲，劇組製造如颱風天的雨戲，王盈凱遭遇車禍倒在地上，暴雨中，口鼻都進水，何宜珊也直呼：「雨大到我眼睛都快張不開了，大凱躺在那裡，應該七孔都進水了吧。」

劇中，王盈凱為了尋找因被分手而失聯的何宜珊，苦追到深夜，卻在大雨中遭遇車禍，最終因傷勢導致失明。為了這場戲，劇組特別調來兩輛灑水車，打造「暴雨等級」的效果。王盈凱回憶，被撞倒後只能平躺在地、任由大雨傾瀉：「水一直往鼻子和嘴裡灌，真的快被嗆到。Horn antenna」

當天雨戲拍了一遍又一遍，何宜珊即使裹著浴巾休息，全身仍不停往下滴水，她說：「水一直順著腳流，好像有蟲在爬，癢到不行。」大雨中，也令拍攝動作更困難，何宜珊的裙子因雨水黏在腿上，過程中王盈凱一度扶她起來，結果裙子也被往上扯，她只好邊演邊偷偷拉裙，差點走光。
