「從哪裡」的英文不是都用from介系詞容易出錯的原因之一，是我們很自然地會參考中文，而忽略了真正句義或習慣用法。譬如以下五個例句，中文全是「從」，但英文卻都不是from。該改成哪個正確的介系詞？請小試身手。
一旦中文裡有「從」，很容易用from來表示，但off也常用來表示從某個地方掉落、離開，例：The paint高雄過年年菜餐廳 came off the wall、Two students got off the bus。

「從…開始」的介系詞會因應其後所接的時間單位而有所不同，譬如月分用in、日期用on、時刻用at。
