I have been there twice, once was dinner, 20,000JPY per head, we end up spent 60,000JPY for two people. the manager is cool, she has worked at original San Pau for a couple of years and speak very good Catalan.
The luch was cheaper, 4500 for 3 courses and the cute 4 starter.
I like the place, but the patit4 (sweets) was a disaster, wasabi chocolate is just not right... and coffee was not up to standard... Anyway, i still like it, and am sure i will visit again...

However, out of their Petits Fours, i actually liked the Bombó Wasabi the most(could be just a personal preference though). I'll definitely go back again too^^

Interestingly enough, this fish is good in almost all kinds of renditions - Japanese robatayaki/shiroiyaki, Chinese stew (¨§»G¿N) or pan fry, as well as the one you enjoyed.  It is an everyday fish that we can buy in most wet (conventional) markets for reasonable prices. 

Incidentally, the Spanish version that you enjoyed was almost identical as the French version I had at Robuchon HK - they dripped extremely hot oil onto the fish skin to make it spike up and become crispy, while keeping the body still tender.  Yummy! 

Tile fish, househead, ama tai.. whatever you call the fish, it will remain one of my favorite of all times.  In Western cuisine, the only fish that comes close is probably the dover sole.

Thank you for your article which has reminded me again of this wonderful restaurant when we visited it last Nov. The dinner we had was just absolutely beautiful. Yes I remembered the lady manager (should be the same one) who was both professional and talkative. And the "door man" was.... just a doorman.

I have already penciled it down for another visit mid next year.
