This summer is hot. Temperature is somewhere around 100' F.
Any physical movement will invite sweating like hell. Some
times I have to change T-shirts 3 times a day. This
is also the busiest season of the year when you can make 25%
income of the total year revenue. There is no time to sit down
and waste my life.
The water heater in our manager quarter was out of order. I
checked the pilot light of gas and found it was malfunctioning.
I replaced it. Thought other things will stay for a quite a while.
There came the out door which was compltely crushed and
unrepairable. I smashed the whole door of heating unit and
sent the wood door to the dumpster.
When I throw the door, small wood chip caught my right thumb.
I was feeling hurt and very painful. I was trying to use the needle
to pick it up. It was so tiny that it refused to come out.
I had been trained for the basic 1st Aids to use the needle to
cut it out and to see if the chip could be pushed out. the blood
from thumb coming out furiously. I decided that I did not
have right tool to pick up the chip and had to let it stay continued
my other work.
The right process to do was to steril the open cut and applying
(Mupirocin ointment) to the cut then covered with Band-aid.
After that I had to continue my daily activities and no time
to ask Doctors professional help.
For 3 days the chip were remaining in the thumb it hurts a
little but it was manageable. I closely watched the self healing
process. The thumb at beginning appeared a little swelling
with pale look. When I worked with right hand I could still
feel the pain. Since there had been not bacterial penetrating
into the cut the self immune system was working to start self
healing. It was slow but I can feel it was working to my favor.
The pale circle of the cut was about less than 3/4 centimeter.
After 4 days I removed the bandage and kept it open for 3 days.
To avoid the infection, I made sure that daily hand-washing
with water would not deterialize the healing. The pain in the
thumb was decreasing and at the 8th day Aug 15th, 2007
I noticed the change. The pale cut was gone and left with
a mini tiny round circle in dark red color. I tried to take off the
dead skin and there is no blood coming out. It was a self healing
process and human body has done good job all by its self.
Amazing human self healing processing!
