馬刺昨迎戰少了杜蘭特和韋斯布魯克的雷霆，卻遭遇對方頑強抵抗，直至延長賽才以102比98險勝，拿下主場第40勝，追平塞爾提克於1985-86年所創的單季主場40勝紀錄。

NBA單季主場最多勝紀錄是由綠衫軍所保持，塞爾提克該季一路殺進總決賽，然後以4比2擊敗火箭而封王，馬刺如今想仿造塞爾提克模式奪冠，但這條路恐將會碰到雷霆與勇士等強敵的阻攔，難度相當高。

此役攻下20分的「法國小跑車」帕克表示，當年擁有博德、派瑞許與麥克海爾等多位名將的塞爾提克是傳奇勁旅，整季主場只輸1場是多麼不容易的事，如今他們做到了。

貢獻26分、5籃板、5助攻的里歐納德，延長賽獨進6分成為馬刺獲勝最大功臣，他說，杜蘭特與韋斯布魯克突然不在球場上，確實造成防線很大困擾，畢竟熟悉的人不見了，所幸經過調整後找回應有節奏。

小指頭扭傷的艾卓吉僅打19分，甚至下半場只打了3分鐘。里歐納德表示，他是球隊主力，手感不好只能提前退場；馬刺教頭帕波維奇打趣說，「他很好啊！只不過是上了一次很長時間的廁所。」

對於雷霆也玩起主力球員輪休手段，帕波維奇佯怒說，「怎麼可以讓球員休息，這實在太亂來了！」
