靠著比賽最後4次罰球決定勝負，老鷹對熱火之戰一路拉鋸，來到最後11秒熱火採取犯規戰術，老鷹貝茲摩（Kent Bazemore）和施羅德（Dennis Schroder）連續4罰全數命中，最終以93：90險勝熱火。

熱火是在主控德拉基奇（Goran Dragic）和本季表現亮眼的溫史洛（Justise Winslow）皆缺陣下迎戰老鷹，不過一開賽熱火在威特斯（Dion Waiters）投進三分球後取得領先優勢，但老鷹米爾賽普（Paul Millsap）隨即帶領球隊拉出10：0的反擊，兩隊在首節陷入拉鋸戰。

熱火後場戰力因傷兵問題大打折扣之下，中鋒懷塞德（Hassan Whiteside）扛起重擔，頻頻在禁區挑戰「魔獸」哈沃德（Dwight Howard），尤其在第3節哈沃德因為左股四頭肌受傷退場，懷塞德更是完全制霸禁區，最終抓下NBA本季新高的單場25籃板、外帶全隊最高的19分。

在懷塞德帶領以及比賽最後13秒麥克羅伯茲（Rodney McGruder）在籃下補進關鍵兩分後，熱火一度追到僅剩1分差距，不過老鷹貝茲摩和施羅德在對手採取犯規戰術凍結時間時，連續4罰全進，最終老鷹就以3分差收下勝利。

>老鷹共有6人得分上雙，施羅德進帳全隊最高的18分、米爾賽普15分6籃板，僅打3節就退場的哈沃德則是11分11籃板；熱火則是以懷塞德的19分25籃板表現最佳，小將理查森（Josh Richardson）也有19分4籃板進帳。
