美國波士頓馬拉松恐怖炸彈攻擊案（波馬案）聯邦陪審團，15日無異議對主嫌之一佐哈．查納耶夫（見右圖，美聯社）做出死刑裁決。佐哈也成為了「911事件」之後首位在美國被判死刑的恐怖分子。

法庭書記15日宣讀陪審團的決定時，身穿深色運動外套與淺色襯衫的佐哈神態冷漠，臉上毫無表情，而神情嚴肅的陪審團員多人頻頻輕撫眼角拭淚，甚至有人因激動而顫抖。

車臣裔、21歲的佐哈，與他的兄長塔默蘭，共同在2013年4月15日犯下波馬案。兩兄弟當年在馬拉松賽終點線附近引爆兩個土製壓力鍋炸彈，造成3死264傷（17人肢體傷殘），且在被警方追捕、逃亡過程中還槍殺麻省理工學院1名校警，最後塔默蘭遭警方擊斃。

7位女性與5位男性組成的南波士頓聯邦法庭陪審團，歷經3天共約15小時的審議，特別基於佐哈在伯爾斯頓街論壇餐廳前放置炸彈，造成8歲男孩理查與波士頓大學23歲中國女留學生呂令子喪生，而裁決佐哈應受注射毒液處以極刑。

24頁的陪審團裁決書認為「對於佐哈，死刑是適當的刑罰。」同一陪審團先前在上月8日裁決佐哈被控的30項罪名全部成立，其中有17項最高可判處死刑。

本案死傷者家屬分別對陪審團的決定紛紛表示，「前方路途依然遙遠，但如今得喘一口氣」、「司法體系發揮效用，陪審團善盡了職責」、「裁決讓人如釋重負，正義獲得伸張」。8歲遇難男童理查的父母則未發表評論，他們聆聽裁決的神情嚴肅莊重。

美國司法部長林奇女士稱之為「終極刑罰」，她認為「對這種恐怖罪行是適當懲罰」。麻薩諸塞州的聯邦檢察官歐提茲說：「這不是慶祝的日子。而是反省和療癒的日子。也是翻開新頁的時候。」
