皇家總教練約斯特今天在賽後記者會上表示，王建民今晚的表現，和春訓期間表現相同，見到王建民最後將打者三振，那正是球隊所要的。

皇家隊隨團記者相當關切王建民初登板的整體表現，是否符合球隊在春訓期間的預期。

約斯特（NedYost）表示，王建民距離上次投球已經有七天，他上次投球是在春訓期間，今晚有一點不穩，但他的控球很棒，伸卡球讓他重回比賽。

他說，王建民是球隊在春訓時簽來的，他在春訓的表現就如同今晚的表現。

約斯特指出，訓練時要求（王建民）丟球和改變球速時進入好球帶，好的投手知道如何盡快調整自己到好的狀態。

他強調，球隊並未真的看春訓的數字，但見到王建民最後將打者三振，那正是球隊所要的。
