民進黨批評，國民黨黨主席朱立倫與中共總書記習近平昨日舉行的「朱習會」是賣國求榮，前衛生署長楊志良今（5）日下午在《華視新聞廣場》錄影前受訪表示，朱習會看裡來像「例行性見面」，雖然沒什麼重大成就，但也不至於有辱國格，但此時不宜舉行，應在大選後彙整國內新民意，才比較適合。

《蘋果日報》報導，國民黨內部有聲音建議朱立倫帶職參選總統，楊志良表示，他一直主張好的人都該出來參選，國民黨是開大門走大路的黨，朱立倫是公認的好人才，參選是件好事，而自己也是好的人，所以才會參加黨內初選。

對於親民黨黨主席宋楚瑜，楊志良也說台灣大多數的人都認為他是人才，也許是機運，上次差點當選總統，要不然台灣的歷史就改變了，宋楚瑜不管勸不勸進選，對國內的政局、施政都能有很多的指導和建議。
