oooooops!! what i wrote this morning is gone!! el paso is the 4th stop of this trip. it's a border town near mexico. they are so close that mexicans can cross the bridges to come over el paso to work, to study or to buy things. there are so many poor mexicans dragging big bags full of used clothes to bring back to mexicon town "juarez". those clothes will be washed and sell. el paso is so unique cause it's the intermingle of 2 cultures, mixed so naturally here. no racial issue cause the white guys are the minority here. 80% population is spanish who are majority!! my friend sunny who works in atlanta as a photographer told me that i have to try the tradition mexican soup " manudo" which tastes like our "da-chang-mein-shen" in taiwan. hahaha, it's made of cow stomach and spicy... the el paso times border reporter , louie, who is from france said she hate manudo cause it's disgusting. but the fat reporter ( i forgot his name, he's really a nice guy) who is latino said " why, you french eat snails !!" but louie said snails are delicious. as for me, i'd like to try since we culturally chinese can eat anything. but manudo is hard to find. they said only in saturday morning , after friday night party, people would have manudo to wake from drunk. tomorrow we are going to visit the WHITE SANDS. a white desert in new mexico! that will be my first time to witness a real desert. wait & see. |
