DIALOG（向新郎、新娘祝賀）

A: Cathy, I wish you much happiness.

凱西，祝妳幸福快樂。

B: Peter, congratulations.

彼得，恭喜。

C: Cathy, Peter is so lucky to have “won” a girl like you.

凱西，彼得能娶到像妳這樣的女孩子，實在是太幸運了。

D: Cathy and Peter, my best wishes to you!

凱西、彼得，衷心祝你們幸福快樂。

解說Usage

大家對Congratulations. 應該都很熟悉，但請注意，並不是所有表達「恭喜」的場合都可以用這個字。Congratulations. 基本上是對因努力而成功的人所說的祝福話，因此對新人說這句話時，就有「做得太好了」的含意。

一般而言，對熟人說Congratulations. 不會出什麼問題。要注意的是，在英語系國家中，Congratulations. 通常是對新郎說的，而不是對新娘。

最安全的說法是I wish you much happiness. 或My best wishes to you.，這兩句都可以對新郎或新娘說。

〈I wish ＋人＋目的〉可以應用在各種祝福的場合中，例如much happiness（幸福）、good health（健康）、good luck（幸運）、success（成功）、a speedy recovery（早日康復）等。
